Recording Your VideoIn our observation, video quality doesn't matter much. What's important is that people see who you are. Some products require a clear video to explain how they work, but for the most part it seems that pictures are what really sell a product.
When it comes to filming yourself (or the project creators), we suggest that you make it very short and simple. If you can say everything that needs to be said in a single shot then it will make your life much easier when it comes time to edit the video. You can literally save hours or days by having a simple speaking part that is all filmed in one shot and requires no editing. Below we're included a few examples of super simple videos for projects that did very well to prove our point. You may want to copy their tactics. |
Example: Supr slimThis project raised $203,488 and has a very simple video filmed with cheapo computer webcams.
|
Example: KerflufflesThis project raised $104,667 with a slideshow video. No actual video is shown, just still pictures.
|
Example: Sharpener JarThis video only has three shots, no speaking from the creator, and the project raised 518% of it's goal.
